  • Many people may not have enough money to afford the full cost of an abortion or miscarriage support. Abortion funds are groups that help connect people to financial assistance. They can provide a range of help, including money, help with travel, covering the cost of food, and more. There are many resources that can help pay for abortions. Many telehealth providers that serve the U.S. offer sliding scale options based on your financial need. If you are using a telehealth provider and need financial assistance, ask your provider about sliding scale options during the abortion consultation.

  • Trans people face a host of additional barriers when accessing abortion. Legal barriers like bans on abortion disproportionately affect trans people who are more likely to live below the poverty line (U.S Transgender Survey, 2015). Institutional and interpersonal transphobia, including paperwork and intakes that erase or out trans people, add barriers that can make abortion care inaccessible.

Below is a list of national resources that support the needs of Trans people accessing abortion.
